Former Site of the CCP Minzhong Xiamen Working Committee
The former site of the CCP Minzhong Xiamen Working Committee is a municipal cultural relics protection unit in Xiamen.
The former site of the CCP Xiamen Working Committee (Minzhong) is located at No. 1 Lizhi Road, Xiamen. The site faces northeast and is situated southwest, consisting of a traditional two-courtyard brick-and-wood structure building typical of southern Fujian. It covers a total area of 750 square meters. The site was originally built in the 23rd year of the Republic of China (1934) as a Buddhist vegetarian hall named “Miaofa Forest.” After the Marco Polo Bridge Incident, the Xiamen Anti-Japanese Support Association used the Miaofa Forest’s vegetarian gatherings for anti-Japanese propaganda activities. In April of the 35th year of the Republic of China (1946), the CCP Minzhong Xiamen Working Committee (abbreviated as Xiamen Working Committee), with Secretary Xu Jiming, was established here. In 1984, the site underwent comprehensive restoration and is now a municipal-level cultural relics protection unit.
