The Former Site of the Xiamen Working Committee of the CPC – Yangzhai Library is a cultural heritage site protected at the Tong’an District level.

The Former Site of the Xiamen Working Committee of the CPC – Yangzhai Library is located within Tong’an No. 3 Middle School in Tong’an District. It is a county-level cultural heritage site dating back to 1946.

The Yangzhai Library is located in Yangzhai Village, Xike Town, Tong’an County (currently part of the campus of Tong’an No. 3 Middle School). It was founded in the 2nd year of the Republic of China (1913) by Mr. Chen Yanxiang, a member of the Tongmenghui. The former site faces south and north, and is a two-story Western-style brick-and-wood building covering an area of 165 square meters. In July of the 35th year of the Republic of China (1946), the Xiamen Working Committee of the CPC established a secret base of operations here to carry out revolutionary activities in Xiamen, Zhangzhou, Quanzhou, and Anxi. In the same year, the Tong’an Middle School General Party Branch of the CPC was formed. This site is a municipal-level cultural heritage protection unit.

Protected area: 10 meters beyond the eastern wall, 8 meters beyond the southern wall, with boundaries defined by adjacent walls to the west and north.
