Tong’an Martyrs’ Cemetery

Tong’an Martyrs’ Cemetery is a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Fujian Province.

Tong’an Martyrs’ Cemetery is located on Hulu Mountain to the northwest of Datong Town, Tong’an County. The cemetery faces west and was built in 1967, covering an area of 250 square meters. In front of the tomb stands a prismatic stone stele, 13.6 meters in total height with a base width of 2 meters. The top of the stele is shaped like a four-edged spire and is decorated with an engraved five-pointed star. The main body of the stele is inscribed with eight characters: “Eternal Glory to Revolutionary Martyrs.” The tomb houses the remains of 52 martyrs who bravely sacrificed their lives during the Battle of Liberating Tong’an, as well as in the land reform and bandit suppression campaigns. This cemetery is a county-level cultural heritage protection site.

Protected Area: East to the fence of the Retread Factory; West to the fence of Tong’an Hospital; Southeast to the iron slag pile; North to Fu-Xia Highway (i.e., National Highway 324).

Datong Subdistrict: Datong Subdistrict covers an area of 19.51 square kilometers, with a registered population of 60,361. It includes 9 communities: Tongxin, Xi’an, Sanxiu, Houlu, Xibian, Chengxi, Fengshan, Beimen, and Xichi; and 9 village committees: Tianyang, Guzhuang, Chaoyuan, Dongshan, Dingxitou, Biyue, Dongzhai, Xiaxitou, and Kangxun.
