Haicang Revolutionary Martyrs' Cemetery

The Haicang Revolutionary Martyrs' Cemetery is located at the eastern foot of Dongtou Mountain in Xinglin, Haicang, and was built in 1958. The cemetery faces west and covers an area of approximately 1,664 square meters. Its main entrance is a single-eave, double-swallow-ridge gatehouse constructed of cement and brick, situated centrally on the front facade. Inside the cemetery, the martyrs’ tombs follow the southern Fujian burial custom, featuring a front stele and rear burial chamber structure. The tombstones are inscribed in regular script with the martyrs’ names, places of origin, military unit numbers, and the dates and locations of their martyrdom. On both the left and right sides of the cemetery stand hexagonal pavilions built with cement and brick. This cemetery is the final resting place for People's Liberation Army officers and soldiers who sacrificed their lives during the Battle of Xiamen in September and October 1949.
