The Nan'an Zheng Chenggong Memorial Hall is a national AAA-level tourist attraction and a patriotic education base.

To commemorate the glorious achievements of the national hero Zheng Chenggong in recovering Taiwan, the "Zheng Chenggong Memorial Hall" was built in 1962 at the ancestral shrine of the Zheng family in Shijing Town, Nan'an City, his hometown. In 1981, a new hall was constructed on Aofeng Mountain, housing over 200 important cultural relics including Zheng Chenggong’s hair, jade robe, and boots.

The Zheng Chenggong Memorial Hall showcases the hero’s great achievements throughout his life. The front exhibition hall presents the central theme of the memorial, featuring a full-body standing statue of Zheng Chenggong, the "Chronology of Major Events in Zheng Chenggong’s Life," the "Biography of Zheng Chenggong," as well as poems about his "Recovery of Taiwan" and "Northern Expedition." It also includes a colored painting of the "Surrender Ceremony of the Dutch Colonizers to Zheng Chenggong" and another depicting "The Taiwanese People Warmly Welcoming Lord Koxinga, Zheng Chenggong."

The middle exhibition hall displays content in three aspects: first, "Strategic Brilliance and Heroic Youth"; second, "Northern Expedition Against the Qing, Revered Across the Southeast"; and third, "Recovery of Taiwan and Development of the Precious Island."

The rear exhibition hall features content themed "Immortal Achievements and Enduring Legacy," showcasing precious cultural relics unearthed from Zheng Chenggong’s tomb, rare treasures, a large number of classical historical materials, as well as numerous calligraphy and paintings inscribed and created by famous artists and scholars.

Standing on the balcony of the three-hall building’s upper floor and looking toward Kinmen Island, just 6 nautical miles away, evokes deep emotions of hope for reunification, with wishes that in the near future, compatriots on both sides of the strait can jointly cultivate the blue fields along the vast Wu Ma Jin River.

On the western side of the memorial hall, on Aoshi Mountain, there is also a garden-style stele forest covering nearly 100 acres, engraved with poems by Zheng Chenggong and inscriptions by celebrities from China and abroad. The memorial hall sits against a mountain and faces the sea, with picturesque water and mountain scenery that is truly magnificent.

Zheng Chenggong, originally named Sen, childhood name Fusong, courtesy name Damu, art name Mingyan, was a native of Shijing, Nan'an. He was born on July 14, 1624, in Hirado, Nagasaki (Chikuzen, Japan), on the shore of Shiranami. His father was Zheng Zhilong, and his mother was the daughter of the Tagawa family from Hirado, Nagasaki, Japan. In the third year of the Chongzhen era of the Ming Dynasty (1630), when Zheng Chenggong was 7 years old, he returned from Japan to Anping (now Anhai Town, Jinjiang) to study and was given the name Sen.

At the age of 11, Zheng Chenggong once wrote an essay on the topic assigned by his tutor, "Sweeping, Greeting, Responding, Advancing, and Retreating," composing the astonishing line, "The conquests of Tang and Wu were but sweeping; the abdications of Yao and Shun were but advancing and retreating." Shijing Town: The hometown of the famous national hero Zheng Chenggong, the ancient port town of Shijing in southern Fujian, is located at the southernmost tip of southeastern Fujian, only 6 nautical miles from Kinmen. Shijing's Majiang is the only seaport in Nan'an City and a key maritime hub for external transportation on the western coast of southeastern Fujian. To the east, it borders Dongshi in Jinjiang across Majiang; to the south, it faces Kinmen across Wujian; to the west, it connects to Guishan and neighbors Xiangdong in Xiang'an District, Xiamen; to the north, it borders Shuitou.
