Surrounded by mountains on all sides, the Nanan Tribe serves as the gateway to the eastern section of Yushan National Park. It is the most tourism-rich tribe in the township, featuring the Nanan Visitor Center. Nearby attractions include the Luming Bridge and Nanan Waterfall. Continuing westward along Provincial Highway30, you’ll reach the entrance to the Wulaimi Trail, which connects to the Batongguan Historic Trail.

The Zhuole Tribe is home to three century-old camphor trees, earning it the nickname “Old Camphor Tree Tribe.” When visiting Zhuole, take a moment to admire these ancient trees and listen to their whispers. The tribe also features an Anti-Japanese Heroes Monument, commemorating a group of tribal members killed by Japanese soldiers and police during the Japanese colonial period. It serves as a reminder for future generations not to forget the Bunun people’s resilient spirit in the face of turmoil and their brave fight against Japanese forces.
Taiping Tribe.
The Taiping Tribe is surrounded by mountains, forming a unique basin-like terrain. The mountain that resembles a sleeping woman is the tribe’s landmark, while the rice fields encircled by mountains offer one of the best hidden scenic spots in the township. Located at the foot of the mountain with flat roads, the area is perfect for a tribal cycling tour.
?itian Tribe.
The ?itian Tribe was historically named Izukan, meaning “land abundant with citrus,” due to its once-prosperous citrus production. In addition to visiting the ?itian Bunun tribal village, visitors can also explore the nearby ?itian Recreation Area, including the ?itian Trail, ?itian Sandbar Dam, and Biyong Bridge, to enjoy the beauty of nature and tribal culture.
