Eshan Tea
Eshan Tea
Eshan Tea, mainly produced in the Lao'e Mountain area of Danling County. According to the *Huayang Guo Zhi·Shu Zhi*: “Nan’an and Wuyang both produce famous teas.” The cultivation and production of tea in Nan’an, which is part of Danling’s Lao’e Mountain, has been carried on for over 1,300 years, and it was listed as an imperial tribute in the 12th year of the Shunzhi reign during the Qing Dynasty. In the early 1990s, the Yunwu Mao Feng (Cloud Mist Mao Feng) and roasted green tea series produced by the Zhangchang Town Tea Factory located in the Lao’e Mountain region—especially the pre-rain season Mao Jian (Bud Tip)—were of exceptional quality. These were respectively awarded the Gold and Bronze Medals at the 2nd National Agricultural Expo.
