Location: Dayan Village, Penghua Town, Nan'an City

Introduction: Constructed between the Jiaqing (1796–1820) and Daoguang (1821–1850) periods of the Qing Dynasty by overseas-working members of the Hong family who returned to their native village, the residences mostly consist of two or three courtyards, five bays in width, and are built with either single or double side wings. They feature gable-and-hip or flush-gable roofs, post-and-lintel or mortise-and-tenon wooden structures, and swallowtail ridges. Among them, the "Ruiyi Hall," "Aoteng Hall," and "Fulin Hall" are the most distinctive, notable for their large scale and richly decorated interiors and exteriors.

Protected area — Ruiyi Hall: East and west boundaries extend to the lane ditches on either side; south to the front courtyard garden; north to the enclosing wall.

In 2009, the Hong Family Residence in Dayan was designated as part of the seventh batch of provincial-level cultural heritage sites by the People's Government of Fujian Province.

Dayan Village: Located 11 kilometers northwest of the Penghua Town government, Dayan Village is named after its main natural settlement. During the Republican era, it belonged to the Dalu Protection Zone under Penghua Township. In the early years after liberation, it was called Huamei Dayan Village; during the commune period, it became the Dayan Brigade; in 1984, it was renamed the Dayan Village Committee under Penghua Township; and in 1991, it became the Dayan Village Committee of Penghua Town.

The Dayan Village Committee is headquartered in Dayan. The village comprises five natural settlements: Dayan, Weicuo, Lingjiao, Shuiwei, and Yannei. It has 10 villager groups, with a population of 321 households and 1,844 people. The settlement is spread across the hills and valleys at the foot of Qishan Mountain in a roughly square layout.
