Location: Xiamie Village, Xiamie Town, Nan’an City
Description: Built by the renowned Filipino overseas Chinese businessman Chen Jiongliang and his brothers, the residence consists of three individual structures aligned from east to west, with a total existing floor area of 1,920 square meters. The eastern and central sections are traditional three-bay and five-bay buildings, featuring two-story stacked wing rooms and square pavilions; the western section is a two-story Western-style building. The architecture is adorned with exquisite stone carvings, brick carvings, wood carvings, and imported floral tiles.
Protected area: Extending 20 meters outward from the surrounding wall.
In 2009, the Xiamie Chen Family Residence was designated as part of the seventh batch of Provincial-Level Cultural Heritage Protection Units by the People’s Government of Fujian Province.
Xiamie Village: Xiamie Village is located in the southeastern part of Xiamie Town, bordering Jiuzhen Port to the east, Wushe Village to the west, Yuntou Village to the north, and Baishi Village to the south. Provincial Highway Zhangdong Line and the Zhangzhou–Zhao’an Expressway pass through the village.
Economic Conditions and Basic Infrastructure
The village has a total of 643 mu of arable land (232 mu of paddy fields and 411 mu of dry farmland), along with one area of hilly land and one of tidal flats.
Due to a large population and limited farmland, the main source of income is tidal flat aquaculture, primarily oysters, with “Xiawei Oysters” being widely renowned.
Electricity supply is stable, and television and telephone services are largely widespread.
