The Nan'an Revolutionary Martyrs' Monument is a classic red tourism destination and a patriotic education base.

The Nan'an Revolutionary Martyrs' Monument is located at the east entrance of Nanshan Park in the urban area of Nan'an City.

Nan'an is a key old revolutionary base county (city) in Fujian Province and one of the three key county-level (city-level) regions in Quanzhou City, with a total of 129 old revolutionary base villages across the city. In January 1927, the Communist Party of China established the first party branch in Nan'an in Fengzhou. Since then, the revolutionary struggle under the leadership of the Communist Party spread like wildfire across the Wurong region. From 1927 to 1949, during the 22-year revolutionary journey, the martyrs of Nan'an sacrificed their lives and shed their blood, enduring numerous hardships and trials. They led the people of Nan'an in successive waves of brave resistance, ultimately achieving final victory in the revolutionary struggle.

To commemorate the glorious achievements of the revolutionary martyrs, the Nan'an Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government built the "Nan'an Revolutionary Martyrs' Monument." Designed by the Tianjin University Design and Research Institute and Academician Peng Yigang of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and constructed by the Municipal Public Works Administration Bureau, the monument commenced construction on October 8, 2007, and was completed on April 1, 2009. The entire project includes the monument, a forest of steles, a sculpture wall, and a memorial square, with a total investment of over 4 million yuan, covering an area of more than 6,000 square meters — including a memorial square of over 1,100 square meters. The forest of steles is situated on the mountainside in front of the memorial square, built along the natural terrain, and inscribed with the names of 384 verified martyrs. There are 120 memorial pillars arranged in a stepped formation; at the center is an altar adorned with a stone-carved wreath, surrounded by stone pillars symbolizing the revolutionary martyrs who sacrificed for the peaceful liberation of Nan'an. The main body of the monument stands 20.2 meters tall, with reliefs depicting martyrs who heroically gave their lives during various revolutionary periods and the national emblem engraved on the front. The front of the sculpture wall features an inscription engraved by the People's Government of Nan'an City. The entire monument is majestic and exquisitely crafted, radiating a solemn and profound heroic spirit.

The completion and public opening of the Nan'an Revolutionary Martyrs' Monument will provide an important site for Nan'an City to carry out patriotic education, revolutionary tradition education, and local history education.
