Nan'an City Museum

The Nan'an City Museum is a comprehensive museum. Established in 1990, it serves as a base for patriotic education, lifelong learning for citizens, and a platform for cross-strait publicity and exchange. It consists of the Urban Exhibition Hall, the Zheng Chenggong Cultural Center Exhibition Hall, and the Min-style Red Brick Architecture Exhibition Hall, with a total construction area of over 8,000 square meters and an exhibition area of more than 2,500 square meters. It features two permanent exhibitions: “Nan'an History and Culture” and “Zheng Chenggong’s Recovery of Taiwan,” providing a comprehensive introduction to the long and profound history and culture of Nan'an, as well as the great deeds of Zheng Chenggong in driving out the Dutch and reclaiming Taiwan, and developing the island.

The Nan'an City Museum is a comprehensive museum. In 2011, it was designated as the Nan'an Cultural Relics Protection Center. It functions as a base for patriotic education, lifelong learning for citizens, and a platform for cross-strait publicity and exchange. The museum is primarily responsible for the collection, display, acquisition, authentication, restoration, promotion, and related research of cultural relics. In September 2018, it was rated as a Grade III Museum in Fujian Province. The Urban Exhibition Hall of the Nan'an City Museum has a construction area of over 1,200 square meters and centers on the theme of “Nan'an History and Culture.” The exhibition is divided into four major sections: “Millennial Prefecture,” “Port Opening and Sailing,” “Ancient County’s Might,” and “A Constellation of Stars.” Through the display of artifacts, photographs, stone rubbing copies, sand tables, dioramas, and models, it offers a comprehensive overview of the long and rich history and culture of Nan'an.
