The Dai Ancestral Hall of Puban

The Dai Ancestral Hall of Puban is a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Fujian Province.

The Dai Ancestral Hall of Puban is located in Qiandai Natural Village, Puban Village, Xindu Town, Licheng District. It was established in the 18th year of the Chenghua reign during the Ming Dynasty (1482) by Dai Jingzhai. The ancestral hall covers an area of 1,188 square meters, faces south with its back to the north, and is a single-courtyard building. Its central axis consists of a front courtyard, front hall, patio, and main hall in sequence. The main hall is five bays wide and four pillars deep, with a flush gable roof, and features a post-and-lintel and mortise-and-tenon style wooden structure. This building retains the architectural style of the Ming Dynasty, is of a grand scale, and serves as an important physical resource for studying the architectural art of the Ming Dynasty in Putian. The Dai Ancestral Hall of Puban was designated as a Fujian Provincial Cultural Heritage Site in 2009.

Puban Village: Puban Village

Puban Village lies to the south of Mount Hufu, 1.5 kilometers from the town center, borders the Mulan tributary to the west, and is adjacent to the Putian-Xiuyu Highway to the north. The village has a total of 2,050 mu of farmland, a population of 6,146, and 1,300 households, divided into 25 villager groups, with 90 Party members. It is a specialized village primarily focused on agricultural land and poultry and livestock farming. The per capita net income of farmers is 3,522 yuan. Since 1994, Puban Village has started renovating old houses and constructing new residential areas.
