The former site of the Taofeng Liaison Station is a classic red tourism attraction.

The former site of the Taofeng Liaison Station is located in Taofeng Natural Village, Houzhuo Village, Xitianwei Town, Chengxiang District, Putian City.

The Taofeng Liaison Station was established in 1938, with its main members consisting of Chen Maobo, his wife, and their relatives. Over the course of the long underground revolutionary struggle, they operated under the guise of running a paint shop and a restaurant to raise funds for revolutionary activities. They were actively involved in anti-enemy and anti-puppet revolutionary efforts, using various connections to consistently shield the Party’s underground operations, eliminate traitors, and suppress local tyrants. Particularly during major revolutionary events such as the 1944 intelligence raid on the Hanjiang Branch of the Bank of Communications, they demonstrated outstanding performance. Despite several relatives being arrested and imprisoned, they persisted in carrying out underground revolutionary activities, enduring the trials and tribulations of a perilous struggle, and made positive contributions to the liberation of Putian. The station stood as a banner of underground revolutionary liaison in the region.

The former site of the Taofeng Liaison Station is a single-story residence from the Qing Dynasty, consisting of three wing rooms and side rooms on both the left and right, built with earth and wood materials, covering a construction area of 60 square meters. In December 2011, it was designated for protection by the Party History Research Office of the Putian Municipal Committee of the CPC.

Houzhuo Village: Houzhuo Village

Houzhuo Village is located next to the new town site and is a well-known hometown of overseas Chinese. It currently has 13 villager groups, with 906 households and a total population of 3,207, including 144 Party members. The village has 342 mu of arable land, 585.7 mu of forest land, and 386 mu of orchard land, along with 5 kilometers of village roads. The area features the tomb of Guo Shangxian and a 30,000-square-meter Litchi Park that integrates tourism, sightseeing, leisure, fitness, and entertainment.
