The former site of the underground revolutionary activity hub in Xian is located in Xian Natural Village, Longshan Village, Xitianwei Town, Licheng District, Putian City.

Xian is the hometown of Zhang Kun, commander of the Putian County Battalion under the Central Fujian Detachment. In 1927, several comrades from Xian—including Chen Xian, Chen Cheng, and Zhang Lin—joined the Communist Party of China. Within a few years, they rapidly expanded their membership to over 20 people and actively cooperated with higher-level party organizations to carry out underground revolutionary activities. In 1934, Zhang Kun participated in the anti-Japanese peasant association and led efforts in reducing rents and interest rates. In 1935, he joined the Central Fujian Workers' and Peasants' Guerrilla Unit and established the Xian revolutionary activity base. Due to Xian’s location deep within the lychee groves, which offered convenient escape routes during emergencies, it became a secret revolutionary base and meeting place for the underground party and guerrilla forces in Putian (Central Fujian) during the Liberation War. Key figures such as Su Hua, Huang Guozhang, and Lin Runan often stayed in Xian to engage in underground revolutionary activities. In July 1947, after the Central Fujian Guerrilla Column suffered setbacks during its campaign in the Daiyun Mountains, Huang Guozhang and Lin Runan led a portion of their troops back to Putian from Dehua to go into hiding. At that time, Yang Qisong, political instructor of the Putian People’s Guerrilla Unit, was concealed at the home of Zhang Kun in Xian. However, due to the arrest and betrayal of Xu Alu, the secretary of the Putian County Committee, Yang Qisong was betrayed, captured, and tragically killed. Revolutionary masses in Xian also suffered persecution and made sacrifices for the revolutionary cause.

The former site of the underground revolutionary activity hub in Xian is a two-story civil-structured tripartite house, facing south with a total floor area of 120 square meters. In December 2011, it was designated for protection by the Party History Research Office of the Putian Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China.

Longshan Village is situated on the west side of National Highway 324 between Fuzhou and Xiamen, about 2 kilometers from the town center. It currently has 15 villager groups, with 482 households and a total population of 2,637, including 92 Party members. The village has 630 acres of arable land, 300 acres of fruit orchards, and 6 kilometers of village roads. It is home to county-level protected cultural relics such as the tomb of Lin Pi and Tingzhu Bridge. In 2007, the village produced a total of 287 tons of grain, 879 tons of vegetables, 30 tons of fruit, and 504 tons of livestock products.
