The former site of Huangshi Ninghai Primary School is a cultural heritage site of Licheng District, a classic red tourism destination, and a patriotic education base.

The former site of Huangshi Ninghai Primary School is located in Lindun Natural Village, Qiaodou Village, Huangshi Town, Licheng District, Putian City.

In the summer of 1927, Huang Yuan, who had received preliminary revolutionary education, graduated from the Fourth Provincial Normal School of Fujian and returned to his hometown of Lindun Village. He founded Ninghai Primary School at the Qi Ancestral Hall in Lindun, dedicated to rural education and spreading revolutionary ideals among his students in pursuit of his vision of saving the nation through education. In the summer of 1928, Huang Yuan closed the school after the local patron who supported its operation attempted to alter its educational direction. He then enrolled at China Public School in Shanghai. By the end of 1929, he returned to Putian to join the revolution. Not long after, he joined the Communist Party of China and was selected by the county party committee to study at the Red Army University in the Central Soviet Area of Western Fujian. In October 1930, he returned to Putian from the Central Soviet Area and was appointed Deputy Commander of the Training Detachment of the 2nd Detachment of the Fujian Red Army Guerrilla Forces, where he helped lead the establishment of the Guangye Waikeng Soviet Area. By the end of that year, despite the setback of the Waikeng Soviet struggle in Putian, he remained undeterred and continued the fight alongside his comrades. In June 1931, following instructions from the provincial party committee, the Putian County Committee of the CPC was re-established, and Huang Yuan served as a committee member and head of the military department. In September of the same year, he was sent to Xianyou to assist the county party secretary, Guo Shouluan, in reorganizing and expanding the guerrilla forces. In March 1932, he and other Xianyou County Committee leaders, including Guo Shouluan and Yu Guang, went to the northern area to inspect work but were captured by a local militia in Dalei Village, Shufeng. In early May of the same year, he was executed heroically outside the north gate of Xianyou County.

The former site of Huangshi Ninghai Primary School is the Qi Ancestral Hall, originally built during the Jiajing era of the Ming Dynasty and adjacent to the Ninghai Bridge, the hometown of Imperial Concubine Yang. In 1562, the patriotic general Qi Jiguang led troops to Putian to resist Japanese pirates, achieving a major victory at Lindun in Huangshi and eliminating the pirates' stronghold, effectively pacifying the pirate threat. In the same year, the local benefactor Lin Longjiang donated 30 acres of land in Lindun to build a memorial hall for Qi Jiguang. The hall was demolished in 1958 but was rebuilt with donations in 1993. It now serves as the Qi Jiguang Memorial Museum. In December 1997, it was designated as a cultural heritage site of Putian County by the Putian County People's Government; in July 2000, it was declared a patriotic education base of Putian City by the Putian Municipal Committee and Municipal People's Government.

Qiaodou Village is located about 5 kilometers north of Huangshi Town, Licheng District, Licheng District. To the east lies Meifu Pavilion in Meifu’s Hometown, Jiangdong Village; to the north is the meandering and scenic Mulan River, along with the Ninghai Bridge built during the Yuan Dynasty—one of the Twenty-Four Scenic Spots of Putian, known for the "First Sunrise over Ninghai."
