The former site of the Central County Committee of the Chinese Communist Party in Putian is a classic red tourism attraction.

The former site of the Central County Committee of the Chinese Communist Party in Putian is located at No. 5, Weicuo, Wubu Yu Village, Dongpuyu, Xindu Town, Licheng District, Putian City.

On April 8, 1934, during a meeting at an underground transit station at Yangzhongting in Taijiang District, Fuzhou, the Central County Committee of the Chinese Communist Party in Fuzhou was raided by military police. The secretary of the committee, Chen Zhishu, along with others, were arrested en masse and defected. Lian Wenlan, an inspector of the committee who had visited Putian on multiple inspection tours, was also arrested and betrayed. Subsequently, he led the military police to Putian to dismantle the Central County Committee of the CCP in Putian, as well as the Xiuyang County Committee under its jurisdiction, along with the communist youth league organizations of both Putian and Xiuyang counties. Under the leadership of Wang Yujie and Pan Tao, the CCP organization in Putian actively engaged in struggles against traitors and saboteurs and carried out ideological consolidation. The revolutionary situation in Putian gradually improved. In September of the same year, the Central County Committee of the CCP in Putian was re-established, with Wang Yujie serving as secretary, and Pan Tao, Lin Alang, Zheng Jinzhao, Chen Jianxin, and Huang Guozhang as committee members. The headquarters of the Central Committee was located at the home of Yu Ruilong in Dongpuyu Village, Quqiao (now known as Xindu Town). From then on, under the leadership of Wang Yujie, the Central County Committee of the CCP in Putian actively developed new operational bases and persisted in guerrilla warfare. In May 1935, after the establishment of the Minzhong Special Committee of the CCP, the organizational structure of the Central County Committee of the CCP in Putian was abolished, and the Putian County Committee was re-established, with its headquarters relocated from Dongpuyu to the home of Zeng Jinmu in Dongsong Village.

The former site of the Central County Committee of the CCP in Putian is a single-story earthen and wood structure facing west. Due to a fire and years of disrepair, parts of the wall plaster have fallen off, resulting in considerable damage. Currently, only the central hall and the side rooms on both sides remain. Two propaganda boards with red five-pointed stars are still visible on the outer walls.

Dongpuyu Village is located at the southern end of Xindu Town, 12 kilometers from the town center. It borders Xiuyu District and Hushi Town to the east, and Linchuan Town of Chengcuo District to the southwest. The village consists of three natural villages and ten villager groups, with 530 households and a total population of 2,350. It has 69 party members.
