The Lin Gong Zhongping King Ancestral Hall is located at the end of Shan Yang Village, Ma Keng Township, Zhouning County. Legend has it that Lin Gong, originally named Lin Gen, was born in the third year of the Qingyuan era (1198) during the reign of Emperor Ningzong of the Song Dynasty. He was brave and skilled in battle, healed the sick with hanging bottles, drove away beasts to protect the people, and also exorcised demons. In the folklore of eastern Fujian, Lin Gong is regarded as a guardian deity by the local people, and is one of the three major folk beliefs alongside Mazu and Chen Jinggu. In the fifth year of the Xianchun era (1270) during the reign of Emperor Duzong of the Song Dynasty, Lin Gong passed away, and the local people built the White Horse Pagoda in his memory. In the seventh year of the Chenghua era (1466) of the Ming Dynasty, Emperor Xiaozong of the Song Dynasty posthumously conferred upon Lin Gong the title of “Shanyang Inductive Lin Gong Zhongping Marquis King.” The Lin Gong Palace was first built in the eighth year of the Zhengde era (1514) of the Ming Dynasty and still retains the architectural style of the Ming and Qing dynasties, remaining well-preserved to this day.

Shan Yang Village: Shan Yang Village is the second-largest administrative village in Ma Keng Township, Zhouning County, Ningde City. It is located 6.5 kilometers from the township seat, in the southeastern part of Ma Keng Township, Zhouning County, at the junction of Zhouning, Fu’an, and Ningde counties/cities. To the east it neighbors Xitan Township of Fu’an City, to the west it connects to Xianning Town of the same county, to the south it borders Chixi Town of Jiaocheng District, Ningde City, and to the north it adjoins Ma Keng Township. It is 47 kilometers from the county seat. The township road Shanma Line leads directly to the village, and the Zhouhua Road extends to Xihua in Xitan, connecting the north and south, making transportation convenient.
