The former site of Hexi Central National Primary School is a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Fujian Province.

The former site of Hexi Central National Primary School is located in Hexi Village, Chunchi Town, Zhouning County, dating back to the Republican era.

Description: Established in the 30th year of the Republic of China (1941) by the then head of Chunchi Township, following the most fashionable Western architectural style of the time, the school features rammed earth walls and covers an area of 1,855 square meters. The building faces east and is constructed entirely of brick, featuring arched doorways, louvred windows, and a hip-and-valley roof. From east to west, the layout includes a front playground, a single-story classroom block in a concave shape, an auditorium, and a rear playground. The first row of classrooms has five bays, with the central bay serving as a corridor; the second row has seven bays, with the central and side bays on the ground floor functioning as the auditorium and the end bays as classrooms, while the upper floor houses teachers' offices and dormitories for staff and students.

In 2018, the former site of Hexi Central National Primary School was designated as part of the ninth batch of provincial-level cultural heritage protection units by the People's Government of Fujian Province.

Protected area: A 20-meter extension outward from the surrounding walls of the building.

Hexi Village: A village-level administrative unit with the village committee stationed in the Hexi natural village. It borders Puyuan Town of Zhouning County to the south, is only 7 kilometers east of the town center in Chunchi, adjoins Pingxi Township of Shouning County to the north (40 kilometers from Shouning County seat), and connects to Chengyuan Township of Zhenghe County to the west. Hexi was formerly under the jurisdiction of Shouning County, forming part of Qiushui Township, which included villages such as Chunchi and Siqiao. After the liberation, it was re-established as Hexi Village under Chunchi Town, Zhouning County. In 1956, a commune was set up, followed by a brigade in 1970, and after the reform and opening-up period, the Hexi Village Committee was established.
