Shenfeng Dragon Palace

Shenfeng Dragon Palace is located within the Tian’e Cave Scenic Area in Ninghua and is an underground river karst cave landscape newly developed in 1995. A cool breeze blows out from the cave entrance, which is how it got its name, Shenfeng (meaning “Divine Wind”) Dragon Palace. This breeze is considered “one wonder,” while the boat tour through the thousands of square meters of underground river inside the cave is currently “a unique spectacle” in Fujian. The cave extends five Chinese miles deep and is divided into three cave chambers, one underground lake, and one underground river. The three main chambers are grand and majestic, featuring karst formations such as “Golden Warrior Guarding the Gate,” “Dragon Patrol,” “Silver Bell Calming the Tiger,” and “Ji Gong Fulfilling a Dream.” These formations are uniquely shaped, with bold lines and a strong sense of freehand artistry, creating an awe-inspiring atmosphere.

The underground lake inside the cave is as smooth as a mirror. Stepping onto the lotus-shaped stone in the middle of the lake, visitors can clearly see the reflections of the karst formations—images such as “Hen Calling from the Nest” and “Eagle Diving for Prey” are vivid and lifelike, resembling an underwater “animal world.” The most distinctive feature of the cave is the mysterious and winding underground river. Boarding a small boat and rowing gently, this subterranean aquatic world is truly extraordinary. The water reflects coral, exotic flowers, and jade-like trees, while the cave ceiling is lined with dense “stalactites” hanging with glistening water droplets. These breathtaking scenes make one feel as if they are in an underwater dragon palace.
