Rocky Village

Located in Shuixi Township in the northeastern part of Ninghua, approximately 29 kilometers from downtown Ninghua, this is a rarely visited Danxia landform area. To the north lies the Rocky Village Scenic Area in Jiaokeng Village, about 1 km from Shuixi, covering an area of around 2 km². It mainly consists of red conglomerate and grit rocks from the Late Cretaceous Shaxian Formation. Through external forces such as water erosion, weathering, exfoliation, and gravitational collapse, it has formed majestic peaks, Great Wall-like rock walls, circular rock pillars, and steep red cliffs. The valleys and streams are tributaries of the Min River source. The riverbeds are "stone trough"-shaped, with rock on three sides, creating unique man-made trapezoidal-section rivers, over which ancient covered bridges (wind-and-rain bridges) are built. Together, they form an ink-painting-like scene of towering peaks, red cliffs, green waters, lush mountains, and wooden bridges. To the south lies the Poxi Village Poxi Village Scenic Area, about 2 km from Shuixi. The area features Danxia landform landscapes such as peak clusters, rock fortresses, red cliffs, and deeply cut meandering valleys, including Brushholder Mountain, Cradle Fortress, Cobble Fortress, and Tankeng Fortress. These complement the streams, reservoirs, and green trees, and among them, the Echoing Cliff of the Red Rock produces echoes that linger long in the valley.
