Helong Village

Helong Village in Helong Township, Ninghua County, is located in the mountainous area of northern Ninghua County, about 26 kilometers from the county seat. The entire village sits at an altitude of over 600 meters, featuring a mid-subtropical climate with abundant sunshine, plentiful rainfall, distinct seasons, and pleasant weather.

Upon arriving in Ninghua, one is greeted by endless terraced fields. The Dayang Terraces, located about 3 kilometers from Helong Village, sit at an altitude of around 800 meters, with surrounding peaks exceeding 1,200 meters. They are a testament to the hard work of the Hakka ancestors, who carved fields into the mountainsides to sustain their livelihoods. These terraces embody generations of Hakka wisdom and labor, forming a remarkable spectacle of Hakka agricultural civilization. Together with the contiguous terraces of Xiafu Village and other terraces along the route, the total area exceeds 10,000 mu. The layered fields present a stunning and picturesque landscape, attracting numerous travel enthusiasts in recent years.

Historically, Ninghua County was known as a land of fish and rice, rich in produce and economically developed. Helong Tribute Rice, which originated in the Song Dynasty, has gained widespread popularity among tourists and in the market in recent years thanks to careful cultivation by experts from the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
