The Tiger Rock Site is a cultural relic protection unit of Fujian Province.

Age: Paleolithic Age

Location: Hucun Village, Hucun Town, Ninghua County

Introduction: A late Paleolithic cave site. It covers an area of approximately 1,500 square meters. Eight human tooth fossils were discovered, belonging to two different individuals. Seven of the teeth belonged to an adult male who lived around 10,000 years ago, while the other one belonged to an elderly female. Based on the stratum in which it was found, this tooth is estimated to be at least 40,000 years old, making it the oldest known human tooth fossil in the province. Twenty-five species of Quaternary mammal fossils were also unearthed.

Protected area: The cave, the entire mountain, and the surrounding terraces within 50 meters at the foot of the mountain.

In 2009, the Tiger Rock Site was designated as part of the seventh batch of provincial-level cultural relic protection units by the People's Government of Fujian Province.

Hucun: Hucun Village is located in the town center of Hucun Town. The village has five villager groups, 352 households, and a population of 1,486. It has 1,729 mu of arable land and 850 mu of dry land. The main crops grown include rice, tobacco, sweet potatoes, and vegetables. In 2012, the value of crop production was 1.08 million yuan, and the per capita income of villagers was 5,480 yuan. The village Party branch currently has 59 members, including 14 female Party members. In 2012, it was awarded the title of “Municipal-Level Civilized Village” and ranked first in the overall assessment of the town.
