Chen Tang Xiuzhitang is a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Fujian Province.

Location: Shibei Village, Shipi Town, Ninghua County

Introduction: Also known as "Shangxinwu" (New Upper House), it was built in the fifth year of the Xianfeng reign during the Qing Dynasty (1855). Oriented northeast to southwest, it consists of a Pan-Yue Pond, front courtyard, gate tower, entrance hall, main hall, rear flower terrace, and two rows of wing rooms on each side. The gate tower features a double-eave hip-and-gable roof, and its stone lintel is inscribed with "Shuang Yi Ximen" (Refreshing Breeze from the West Gate); the central part of the main gate is adorned with a round openwork ridge beast sculpture, and the doorway has an entrance porch; the main hall is five bays wide and nine columns deep.

Protected area: 20 meters outward from all sides of the building.

In 2009, Chen Tang Xiuzhitang was designated as part of the seventh batch of provincial-level cultural heritage sites by the People's Government of Fujian Province.

Shibei Village: Located in the western part of Shipi Town, Ninghua County, at the border between Fujian and Jiangxi provinces, Shibei Village is 20 kilometers from the county seat and 4 kilometers from the town. It was called Yuping in the early Tang Dynasty, changed to Shipi in the mid-Tang period, and later evolved phonetically into Shibei. It is an important region in the formation of the Hakka people and is revered as the "Cradle of the Hakka" and "Hakka Ancestral Land." October of each year is observed as the World Hakka Ancestral Worship Month at Shipi. The village is also a revolutionary base, the birthplace of the Cui Bi No. 1 flue-cured tobacco variety, a pilot town for small-town construction by the provincial government, and a contact point for the "Hundred-Village Demonstration" initiative in the province’s new rural development program.
