Location: Shipi Village, Shipi Town, Ninghua County

Introduction: Also known as the Upper Ancestral Hall, it was built in the 53rd year of the Kangxi reign during the Qing Dynasty (1714), covering an area of approximately 700 square meters. The complex includes a front courtyard, a pond, stone flagpoles, a gate tower, a lobby, and the main hall. The main gate is designed in a traditional eight-character opening style with a double-eaved hip-and-gable roof; the main hall features a mixed structural system of through-tenon and raised-beam construction, with five bays in width and five columns in depth.

Protected area: Extends 20 meters outward from the building on all sides.

In 2009, the Zhang Clan Ancestral Temple of Shipi was designated as part of the seventh batch of provincial-level cultural relic protection units by the People's Government of Fujian Province.

Shipi Village: Located in the western part of Shipi Town, Ninghua County, at the border between Fujian and Jiangxi provinces, Shipi Village is 20 kilometers from the county seat and 4 kilometers from the town. It was called Yuping in the early Tang Dynasty, renamed Shipi in the mid-Tang Dynasty, and later phonetically evolved into Shipi. It is an important region in the formation of the Hakka ethnic group and has been revered as the "Cradle of the Hakka" and the "Hakka Ancestral Land." October of each year is observed as the World Hakka Ancestral Worship Month at Shipi. The village is also a base village of the revolutionary old area, the birthplace of the Cuibi No.1 flue-cured tobacco variety, a pilot town for small-town construction by the provincial government, and a contact point for the “Hundred Village Demonstration” project in the province’s new rural construction initiative.
