Former Site of Red Army Slogans at Wujiawu

The Former Site of Red Army Slogans at Wujiawu is a cultural heritage site protected by Ninghua County and a classic destination on the red tourism route.

The Former Site of Red Army Slogans at Wujiawu is located in Wujiawu Natural Village, Lixin Village, Shipi Town, Ninghua County.

During the Agrarian Revolutionary War, Red Army forces stationed in Lixin, Shipi, painted a slogan on the outer wall of the local incense hall to promote the policies of the Party and the Red Army. The slogan read: “The grain of the local tyrants will be distributed free of charge to the poor peasants,” and it remains well preserved today.

The Former Site of Red Army Slogans at Wujiawu faces south and covers an area of 1,104 square meters. It is a Qing Dynasty-era ancient building constructed with a suspended roof and post-and-lintel timber framing, built from brick and wood. Originally a Wu family incense hall, the overall structure is generally well preserved.

In August 2008, the Former Site of Red Army Slogans at Wujiawu was designated as a Cultural Heritage Site of Ninghua County by the Ninghua County People’s Government.
