Site of the Late-Period Pengpai County Committee of the CPC and Pengpai County Soviet Government

The site of the late-period Pengpai County Committee of the CPC and Pengpai County Soviet Government is located at No. 21 Hengjie, Anyuan Village, Anyuan Township, Ninghua County (currently the enterprise office building of the Anyuan Township People's Government and the township government canteen).

In July 1933, the Red Army’s Eastern Army won the Battle of Quanshang Fort during its campaign in Fujian, liberating the northeastern part of Ninghua. To enhance the Party’s unified leadership over the newly liberated areas, the 46th meeting of the Provisional Central Government of the Chinese Soviet Republic decided in July 1933 to establish Pengpai County, along with the Pengpai County Committee of the CPC and the Pengpai County Soviet Government. Wang Zhen and two others successively served as County Party Secretaries, while Yuan Xilin and four others served as successive Chairpersons of the County Soviet Government. The government included various departments such as the Internal Affairs Department, Finance Department, Food Department, Land Department, Labor Department, Education Department, Culture Department, Military Department, Judiciary Department, and Security Bureau. The County Soviet Government was initially located in the Chen Family Ancestral Hall in Wufang Township, Wufang District (now Wufang Village, Hucun Town, Ninghua County), and in May 1934, it moved to the former site of the Nationalist Wufang District Office in Anyuan District, Anyuan Township (now No. 21 Hengjie, Anyuan Village, Anyuan Township, Ninghua County). During this period, Fang Zhichun served as the County Party Secretary, and Zhu Weiheng and two others successively served as Chairpersons of the County Soviet Government.

After relocating to Anyuan, the Pengpai County Committee of the CPC and the Pengpai County Soviet Government launched an energetic land revolution movement. They organized and mobilized the masses to overthrow local tyrants, distribute land, develop the economy, join the army, fight in battles, and support the front lines, making significant contributions to the expansion and consolidation of the Central Soviet Area. In May 1934, Pengpai County was transferred from the jurisdiction of the Fujian Provincial Soviet Government to that of the Min-Gan Provincial Soviet Government. In December 1934, the Pengpai Soviet Area fell.

The site of the late-period Pengpai County Committee of the CPC and Pengpai County Soviet Government was originally the Nationalist Wufang District Office. It faces south and covers an area of 1,900 square meters, surrounded by brick walls and featuring a courtyard-style structure built entirely of wood. During the town renovation of Anyuan in the 1980s, the original buildings were demolished, and new structures — the enterprise office building of the Anyuan Township People's Government and the township government canteen — were built on the site. The original buildings of the Wufang District Office no longer exist.
