Mount Jinglu

Mount Jinglu is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.

Originally named Dali Mountain and also known as Taiyi Mountain, Mount Jinglu is located within the territories of Taining County and Jianning County in Fujian Province. With an elevation of 1,858 meters, it ranks as the second highest peak in southeastern China, only after Taiwan’s Yushan and the Huanggang Mountain, the main peak of the Wuyi Mountains. It is often hailed as “the most splendid peak rising in the southeast.” The name “Jinglu” (meaning “lost golden cymbal”) originates from a legend that the King of Minyue, Wuzhu, once hunted here and accidentally lost a golden cymbal.

Stretching over 300 li, Mount Jinglu comprises 84 peaks, each rugged and precipitous. Its main peak, Baishiding, divides the mountain into eastern and western slopes, with the eastern side mostly featuring sheer cliffs and the western side characterized by jagged ridges and towering peaks. Known as “the No. 1 peak of Fujian,” it stands at 1,858 meters above sea level. The scenic area boasts the highest-altitude and longest (2.1 km) passenger cable car in Fujian Province, the highest-altitude time tunnel, the most distinctive skywalk in the province, the only alpine small train in China apart from those in Taiwan’s Alishan, and the only alpine outdoor ski resort in Fujian. From the summit, visitors can overlook Jianning, Taining, Ninghua, and Mingxi in northwestern Fujian, as well as the Golden Lake — the largest artificial lake in the province.

Mount Jinglu is a natural oxygen bar, with negative oxygen ion levels reaching 50,000 per cubic centimeter. The harmonious blend of lush green mountains and clear waters makes it an ideal destination for travel, leisure, fitness, and scientific research.
