The Site of the Headquarters of the Red 5th Army Corps is a classic red tourism attraction.

The Site of the Headquarters of the Red 5th Army Corps is located between No. 13 and No. 15, Minzhu Street, Fuxing Community, Suixi Town, Jianning County.

In mid-October 1932, the First Front Army of the Red Army launched the Jianning–Lichuan–Taining Campaign from Guangchang, Jiangxi. As the general reserve force of the campaign, the Red 5th Army Corps assisted the Red 1st Army Corps and the Red 22nd Army in eliminating enemy forces in Jianning and Taining. On October 18, the Red Army captured Jianning County, and the headquarters of the Red 5th Army Corps was stationed at Ai’s House on Xiongjialing in Jianning County. In late October, the 15th Army of the Red 5th Army Corps was responsible for establishing the Provisional County Committee of the Communist Party of China in Jianning, with the Propaganda Department of the 15th Army’s Military Commission acting on behalf of the committee. By the end of December, the Red 5th Army Corps moved north to Lichuan to participate in the Battle of Huangshidu. From January to May 1934, the Red Army deployed heavy forces to defend Jianning. The Red 5th Army Corps took part in the defensive battles at Qiujia’ao, Jiangjun Dian, Xueshan Dong, and Zhuma Zhai to protect Jianning, with its headquarters still stationed at Ai’s House on Xiongjialing. On May 16, Jianning County fell. The main Red Army forces in Jianning withdrew southwest to Ninghua County, and the headquarters of the Red 5th Army Corps evacuated Jianning County.

The original site of the Headquarters of the Red 5th Army Corps was Ai’s House on Xiongjialing in Jianning County, which was demolished in the 1980s urban redevelopment project to make way for the office buildings and staff dormitories of the County Material Bureau (General Company), the County Science and Technology Commission, and the County Association for Science and Technology.
