The Battle Site of the Red Army's Southern Gate (Yingxun Gate) is located in Fuxing Community, Suixi Town, Jianning County.

On May 31, 1931, during the Red Army’s battle to capture Jianning City, the 12th Red Army acted as the right-wing assault unit. They advanced straight from Jiantou Village in Xikou Town to the southern gate, took control of the hills south of Shuiche Ridge just beyond the gate, and blocked the Nationalist troops’ escape routes to Ninghua and Guihua. They also forded the Suixi River under the southern gate and seized the hills east of Shuinan. In the afternoon, the 12th Red Army entered the city through the southern gate and fought in coordination with the 3rd Red Army Corps. The battle ended at 18:00, resulting in the capture of Jianning City. On May 16, 1934, during the fifth counter-encirclement campaign and the defense of Jianning, the Nationalist army entered the city through Wan’an Bridge and the East Gate at 09:30. The Fujian–Jiangxi Provincial authorities, along with the Jianning County Committee of the Chinese Communist Party and the Jianning County Soviet Government, evacuated through the southern gate and relocated to areas such as Junkou Yijia, Kefang, and Ninghua in the southwest of Jianning. The Red Army held this position to cover the retreat of these provincial authorities.

The Battle Site of the Red Army's Southern Gate (Yingxun Gate) is the southern gate of the ancient city of Jianning and served as one of the key strongholds during both the Second Counter-Encirclement Campaign battle for Jianning City and the Fifth Counter-Encirclement Campaign defense of Jianning.
