Anti-“Encirclement Campaign” Exhibition Hall of the Central Soviet Area and the Large Group Sculpture “Ode to the Red Army”

The Anti-“Encirclement Campaign” Exhibition Hall of the Central Soviet Area and the Large Group Sculpture “Ode to the Red Army” are designated as a classic red tourism destination, a patriotic education base, and a national defense education base.

The Anti-“Encirclement Campaign” Exhibition Hall of the Central Soviet Area covers a site area of 1,000 square meters, with a building area of 3,000 square meters, an exhibition area of 2,000 square meters, and an exhibition line of 350 meters. It displays 114 revolutionary relics and 348 photographs. The exhibition is divided into seven major sections: A Corner of Red in the Mountains and Rivers of Fujian and Jiangxi, Capturing Zhang Huizan at the Front, Sweeping Away Thousands of Troops Like Rolling Up a Mat, Marching a Thousand Li to Annihilate Stubborn Enemies, Four Times Breaking the Iron Encirclement—The Most Marvelous of All, The Setting Sun Dyes the Journey in Blood, and The Spirit of the Soviet Area Lives On. The large group sculpture “Ode to the Red Army” features five themes: Fighting Bloodily and Conquering Fortified Cities; Advancing Wave upon Wave and Bravely Battling Stubborn Enemies; Foresight and Strategic Planning; Developing Production and Enthusiastically Supporting the Front; and Strategic Relocation and Bidding Farewell to the Red Army. It comprehensively recreates the grand historical panorama of the Central Soviet Area’s military and civilian struggle against the “encirclement campaigns,” as well as their brave and tenacious fighting spirit.

In May 2009, the Anti-“Encirclement Campaign” Exhibition Hall of the Central Soviet Area was designated as a National Patriotic Education Demonstration Base by the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee. In September 2009, it was recognized as a Fujian Provincial Party History Education Base by the Party History Research Office of the CPC Fujian Provincial Committee. In November 2007, it was designated as a Fujian Provincial National Defense Education Base by the People’s Government of Fujian Province. In January 2011, it was named a Fujian Provincial Integrity Education Base by the CPC Fujian Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection and the Fujian Provincial Supervision Department.
