Former Site of the 5th Red Army Rear Hospital

The former site of the 5th Red Army Rear Hospital is a classic red tourism attraction.

The former site of the 5th Red Army Rear Hospital is located at No. 1 Huadunqiao Street, Xikou Community, Xikou Town, Jianning County.

On May 31, 1931, under the command of Mao Zedong and Zhu De, the First Front Red Army captured Jianning County, achieving victory in the Second Anti-Encirclement Campaign. After the Red Army headquarters (the General Front Committee and the General Headquarters) moved into Xikou to the north of Jianning City, the 5th Red Army Rear Hospital was established here to provide medical treatment for wounded Red Army soldiers.

The former site of the 5th Red Army Rear Hospital was originally built in the late 19th century. It faces west and is a two-story brick-and-wood building. The building is 12.5 meters wide and 12 meters deep, covering an area of 150 square meters. It is currently used by the Jianning County Catholic Patriotic Association.
