The Former Site of the Soviet Grain Cooperative is a classic red tourism attraction.

The Former Site of the Soviet Grain Cooperative is located at No. 42, Huadunqiao Street, Xikou Community, Xikou Town, Jianning County.

In 1933, as the land revolution struggle in the Jianning Soviet Area deepened, the construction of the Soviet government became increasingly refined. On August 20, the Provisional Central Government of the Chinese Soviet Republic held an economic work conference for the northern 11 counties in Ningdu. The Chairman of the Jianning County Soviet Government attended this meeting, where Mao Zedong delivered a report titled "Smashing the Fifth 'Encirclement and Suppression' Campaign and the Economic Construction Tasks of the Soviet." The report pointed out that the development of the revolutionary war required us to mobilize the masses and immediately launch movements on the economic front, carrying out all necessary and feasible economic construction projects. It urged the presidiums of Soviet governments at all levels, as well as comrades from the National Economy Department and the Finance Department, to regularly place the development of cooperatives, grain adjustment, production expansion, and trade development on their agendas for discussion, supervision, and inspection. The Central Government planned to issue 3 million yuan in economic construction public bonds—1 million yuan for the Red Army’s combat expenses and 2 million yuan as capital for cooperatives, grain adjustment bureaus, and foreign trade bureaus.

Party organizations and Soviet governments at all levels in Jianning County earnestly implemented the Central Soviet Area’s directives on economic development. The government established additional grain adjustment bureaus and swiftly launched economic movements to develop the economy. With credit provided by the Jianning County Soviet Government, grain cooperatives were organized, using grain confiscated from landlords and local tyrants as a foundation. At the same time, households with surplus grain were encouraged to deposit grain with the cooperatives, which would then lend grain to those in need, adjusting the grain supply and resolving the food difficulties faced by farmers.

The Former Site of the Soviet Grain Cooperative was originally built in the early 20th century as a two-story wooden-framed building, facing south and situated along a north-oriented street. It spans 10 meters in width and 15 meters in depth, covering a total area of 150 square meters.
