Former Residence of Chen Yi

Chen Yi’s Former Residence is a classic red tourism attraction.

The General Temple, Chen Yi’s Former Residence, is located on the hillside behind No. 45, Chuan Chang Xia, Xikou Community, Xikou Town, Jianning County.

In early July 1931, Chen Yi made his first visit to Jianning County to attend a military meeting convened by the Headquarters and the General Front Committee of the First Front Red Army in the conference room at the Xikou headquarters. The meeting aimed to summarize the experiences from the First and Second Encirclement Campaigns against the Central Soviet Area and to plan the strategy for the Third Encirclement Campaign. During this period, Chen Yi stayed at the General Temple in Xikou.

The General Temple, Chen Yi’s Former Residence, was originally built in 1927. It faces west and is oriented from east to west, with a total width of 20 meters, a depth of 13 meters, and an area of 260 square meters. The structure is made of brick and wood.
