Former Site of the Red Army Arsenal

The former site of the Red Army Arsenal is a classic red tourism attraction.

The former site of the Red Army Arsenal is located 50 meters west of the village office in Shuwei Village, Kefang Township, Jianning County, on the southern side of Dunhou’nao.

In May 1934, after the fall of Jianning County town, the CPC Jianning County Committee and the Jianning County Soviet Government relocated to Luoyuan Village in Shengdong District, and their jurisdiction was incorporated into the newly established Second Combat Sector of the Min-Gan Military District. In late June, the Second Combat Sector of the Min-Gan Military District set up an arsenal at the southern side of Dunhou’nao in Shuwei Village, Kefang. It mainly engaged in military production such as firearm maintenance, weapon refurbishment, and the manufacturing of Mauser-type pistols, providing arms support for the Red Army, the CPC Jianning County Committee, the Jianning County Soviet Government, and the Min-Gan guerrilla forces as they continued their struggle in areas such as Kefang in the southwest and northwest of Jianning.

The former site of the Red Army Arsenal is a wooden residential building facing east, covering an area of 460 square meters. It consists of a gate tower, courtyard, entrance hall, central courtyard, and upper hall. It is now one of the sites used for revolutionary tradition education in Jianning County.
