The Site of the Snow Mountain Ridge Ambush Battle is a classic red tourism attraction.

The Site of the Snow Mountain Ridge Ambush Battle is located between Liaojiabang in Dayuan Village of Suixi Town to the east of Jianning County and Yuwei, Dongjia, and Jishang in Zhentou Village.

During the Fifth Counter-Encirclement Campaign of the Central Soviet Area, the Red Army held their position at Snow Mountain Ridge to repel the Nationalist army's eastward attack on Jianning County, serving as a crucial eastern defensive line in the Red Army’s efforts to protect the county.

In late April 1934, after the Nationalist forces under Tang Enbo captured Wan Zhou Ridge, they stationed troops along the Meikou–Wan Zhou Ridge–Maodian line awaiting orders. On May 8, the northern force under Zhou Hunyuan took General Temple. On the afternoon of the 10th, Tang Enbo ordered the 10th Division to move from Maodian to launch an attack on Snow Mountain Ridge. The 34th Division of the Red 5th Army Corps and a regiment of the 1st Division of the Red 1st Army Corps stood ready. Around 2 p.m. on the 10th, after capturing Jiangjiadian, the enemy’s 10th Division split into two routes and advanced toward Snow Mountain Ridge to attack. Holding high ground, the Red Army stood firm. When the enemy charged up the mountainside, the Red Army opened fire with machine guns from both flanks and hurled grenades, repelling the assault. Then, under covering machine-gun fire, soldiers of the 34th Division rushed out of their trenches and pursued the retreating enemy. The enemy hastily retreated toward Maodian but were intercepted by the Red Army at Luoyang Fort. The Red Army killed over 1,000 enemy troops, captured more than 300 (including over 30 officers), and seized more than 800 rifles, 5 machine guns, over 20,000 rounds of ammunition, one crate of shells, and over 100 grenades.

On the 13th, the Nationalist 88th Division captured Wuzhen Ridge to the north of Snow Mountain Ridge. On the morning of the 14th, the 88th Division attacked Snow Mountain Ridge from Wuzhen Ridge. At 4:30 p.m., the attacking forces approached the Red Army positions, bombarding them with artillery and small guns. The Red Army fought fiercely until 6:30 p.m. before retreating toward the county town, and Snow Mountain Ridge fell to the enemy.
