The Former Site of the CPC Jun Kou Special District Committee is a classic red tourism attraction.

The Former Site of the CPC Jun Kou Special District Committee, the ancestral home of the Xie family, is located at No. 3 Tongxie, Jun Kou Village, Jun Kou Town, Jianning County.

In May 1934, when the urban area of Jianning fell, the Soviet regime of Jianning County still maintained intact districts in Lixin, Huangnipu, Kefang, Huangling, Lanxi, and Jun Kou. The CPC Fujian–Jiangxi Provincial Committee decided that the CPC Jianning County Committee, the Jianning County Soviet government, and local armed forces would retreat to the northwestern part of Jianning—Huangnipu, Luoyuan, Kefang, and Zhongshe—to continue guerrilla warfare. The three southern districts of Jianning County—Jun Kou, Huangling, and Lanxi—were merged into the Jun Kou Special District. The CPC Jun Kou Special District Committee was established, along with the Jun Kou Special District Guerrilla Command, with Fang Zhichun appointed as Secretary of the Special District Committee and Political Commissar of the Guerrilla Command. The Special District Committee and the Guerrilla Command were directly under the leadership of the CPC Fujian–Jiangxi Provincial Committee. Jun Kou Special District was one of the grain-producing areas of Jianning County and had convenient transportation. In July, the Special District conscientiously implemented the directive letter issued by the Fujian–Jiangxi War Committee in Lanxi to Communist Youth League and Young Pioneer organizations at all levels. It overcame “sectarianism,” actively developed 150 new members of the Communist Youth League, and established and improved League branches in each township. A number of Party members were also developed to continue Party activities locally, while those whose identities had been exposed were organized into the Special District Guerrilla unit. In August, the Jun Kou Special District was placed under the jurisdiction of Peng’ai County, Fang Zhichun was transferred to become Secretary of the CPC Peng’ai County Committee, and the Jun Kou Special District was dissolved.

The ancestral home of the Xie family, the Former Site of the CPC Jun Kou Special District Committee, was built in the early years of the Republic of China. It features a post-and-lintel and through-tenon wooden structure with a flush gable roof, facing south and situated on a north–south axis. The building consists of a lower hall, an atrium, and an upper hall, with a total width of 18 meters, a depth of 17 meters, and a construction area of 306 square meters.

Jun Kou Village: Located by the Jinxi River, the source of the Min River, and 25 kilometers from the county seat, Jun Kou Village is a revolutionary base village. Provincial highways Jianwen Line and Xiuli Line run through the village. As the seat of the Jun Kou Town Government, it serves as the political, cultural, and economic trade hub of the entire town.
