The former site of the guerrilla headquarters of the Jun Kou Special District is located 50 meters east of No. 3 Tongxie, Jun Kou Village, Jun Kou Town, Jianning County.

In May 1934, when the county seat of Jianning fell, the Soviet regime of Jianning County still maintained intact districts in Lixin, Huangnipu, Kefang, Huangling, Lanchi, and Jun Kou. The Fujian–Jiangxi Provincial Committee of the Chinese Communist Party decided to merge the three southern districts of Jianning—Jun Kou, Huangling, and Lanchi—into the Jun Kou Special District, and established the Guerrilla Headquarters of the Jun Kou Special District. Yang Liangsheng was appointed as commander, and Fang Zhichun served as political commissar concurrently, under the direct leadership of the Fujian–Jiangxi Provincial Committee.

The Guerrilla Headquarters of the Jun Kou Special District commanded a guerrilla force of about 200 members. This force was developed through the efforts of Fang Zhichun. At the time, there were many Big Sword Society factions in the Jun Kou area, making the struggle quite complex. Thanks to his deep engagement with the local people, he quickly organized this armed unit to assist the Red Army in blocking enemy forces and combating the activities of sword-wielding militias along the Jun Kou–Lanchi–Huangling front. They helped maintain public order and played a significant role in safeguarding the safety of the Fujian–Jiangxi Provincial Committee and the Soviet government offices.

While conducting guerrilla operations in villages such as Changji and Shuixi, the guerrillas of the Jun Kou Special District encountered a group of 25 purchasing agents and their escort team sent by the Nationalist army from the county seat. The guerrillas immediately surrounded the enemy, capturing them all. They seized 8 rifles, over 400 rounds of ammunition, several dan (a traditional unit) of food supplies, and tens of thousands in Nationalist currency. Among the captives were one Big Sword Society instructor, one defector, and five local tyrants. From July to August, the guerrillas of the Jun Kou Special District cooperated with troops of the Fujian–Jiangxi Military District to provide armed protection for local harvests and engage in grain protection efforts around General Temple, Jun Kou, and Dushang. In mid-August, learning that the company commander of the enemy garrison at Huangling was escorting grain to the county seat with a platoon, the guerrillas took the opportunity to attack Huangling together with the Red Guards. At the sound of gunfire, the soldiers, leaderless, fled toward the county seat. After capturing the Huangling enemy stronghold, the guerrillas seized a batch of rifles and handguns. In October, following instructions from the Fujian–Jiangxi Provincial Committee, the guerrillas of the Jun Kou Special District merged with the Pengpai Unit and the Second Combat Zone of the Fujian–Jiangxi Military District to form the 12th Regiment of the Fujian–Jiangxi Military District.

The former site of the Guerrilla Headquarters of the Jun Kou Special District was built in the early years of the Republic of China. It features a post-and-lintel and mortise-and-tenon wooden structure, with a two-story building and a flush-gable roof. The structure faces west and consists of an entrance hall, wing rooms, and a pavilion. It has a total width of 19 meters, a depth of 7.3 meters, and covers a construction area of 140 square meters.
