The Zhongcun Kiln Site is a National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit.

Era: Song to Ming

The Zhongcun Kiln Site is located at Huiyao Orchard in Zhongcun Township, Sanyuan District, Sanming City, Fujian Province. According to survey data, the kiln site is spread across more than ten hillsides and slopes, featuring dozens of dragon kilns—both large and small—covering an area of hundreds of thousands of square meters. Due to the water supply project construction needs of Sanming City, two comprehensive excavations were carried out on the Cauliao Back Mountain Kiln Site within the Zhongcun Kiln Site between 1993 and 1994, uncovering well-preserved key structures such as dragon kilns, pottery washing pools, clay forming workshops, and shrines. The Zhongcun Kiln Site mainly produced celadon-glazed porcelain, along with some dark-glazed ware, and very little green porcelain. In May 2013, it was designated and announced by the State Council as part of the seventh batch of National Key Cultural Relics Protection Units.
