Ride the MRT to chase Michelin stars: Five one-day travel routes along the line

After the highly anticipated "Taipei Michelin Guide" was released, a total of 20 restaurants in Taipei received star ratings, attracting foodies to embark on a culinary journey. From authentic Taiwanese cuisine to renowned French fine dining, you can reach these eateries via the MRT, enjoying both play and Michelin-starred meals.

1. Tamsui Star-Chasing Route ─ Yi Palace, the only restaurant awarded the highest "three-star" rating
In the morning, you can visit the large bamboo-woven installation "Shelter" outside the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts for photos. At noon, head to Yi Palace Chinese Restaurant at Grand Hyatt Taipei, the only restaurant in Taipei to be awarded the prestigious "three-star" Michelin rating, and enjoy its flame-grilled Peking duck and other refined Cantonese dishes.

After your meal, relax in Da’an Forest Park, soaking up the sun and enjoying urban phytoncides. If you haven’t fully digested the hearty lunch, Yangmingshan is the perfect choice for a city hike. 2. Songshan Star-Chasing Route ─ Da San Yuan Restaurant, Taipei’s most historic Cantonese flavors
The red-brick facade of the Museum of Contemporary Art Taipei is an important hub for international contemporary art exhibitions. After visiting the exhibits, take a turn into Chifeng Street, where decades-old street-side shops selling used auto and motorcycle parts coexist with creative boutiques and curated lifestyle stores—this unique urban scene is well worth a stop for travelers.

The time-honored Da San Yuan Restaurant, which has earned "one star," is also nearby. For nearly fifty years, it has been serving foodies authentic Cantonese dishes such as salted egg mustard greens braised duck soup and golden custard buns. Before leaving, take a moment to admire the six-story-high calligraphy artwork on the restaurant’s exterior.
