Located in Tokyo, the “Nihonbashi Cherry Blossom Festival” is an event that transforms the entire Nihonbashi district into a cherry blossom viewing destination. Among the popular spots is the 25-meter-long night cherry blossom corridor “SAKURA TUNNEL,” located along the approach to Fuku Inari Shrine on Nakamichi, featuring themes inspired by Edo-period paper-cut art.

The series of events for the Nihonbashi Cherry Blossom Festival kicked off on March 16, offering an artistic flower-viewing experience and a variety of cherry blossom-themed activities just before the peak bloom in Tokyo. The festival first featured a night cherry blossom corridor at COREDO Muromachi, where a 25-meter-long tunnel was adorned with 100 pink lanterns, bathing the entire street in a dreamy cherry blossom hue.

COREDO Muromachi is home to both historic shops with roots in the Edo period and popular modern stores. The night cherry blossom corridor occasionally features light and projection shows. Additionally, there’s the “Nihonbashi Cherry Blossom Food Stroll,” where visitors can enjoy a variety of delicious, limited-edition cherry blossom season dishes. At night, the “Cherry Blossom Illumination” event highlights key cultural properties such as the Mitsui Main Building in a pink glow.

Japan has entered cherry blossom season. Tokyo’s blossoms bloomed earlier this year, around March 17, with full bloom expected on the 25th. Travelers eager to see the cherry blossoms should seize the opportunity.
