The former site of the Workers' and Peasants' Red Army Western Frontier Material Transfer Station is a cultural heritage site protected by Fujian Province and a classic red tourism attraction.

The former site of the Workers' and Peasants' Red Army Western Frontier Material Transfer Station is located in Xijie Village, Xinkou Town, Sanyuan District, Sanming City, dating back to 1933.

Description: Originally the ancestral hall of the Yu family, it was first built during the Hongwu era of the Ming Dynasty (1368–1398) and renovated during the Qianlong reign of the Qing Dynasty. It faces south and has a slightly rectangular layout, covering a land area of 1,400 square meters and a building area of 1,000 square meters. The complex consists of a front courtyard, front hall, central courtyard, main hall, side rooms, corridors, and rear wing. The main hall features seven bays in width and seven columns in depth, with a principal ridge beam construction in the central bay and a post-and-lintel system in the side bays, topped with a gable and hip roof. Starting in 1933, under the leadership of the 7th and 9th Independent Regiments of the Fujian Military Region, Party members, cadres, and villagers from the Xijie Village branch of the CPC and the local peasant association in Sanyuan District purchased salt and other supplies sporadically from places such as Datian, Yong'an, and Quanzhou. These were stored in the Yu family ancestral hall. Once a certain quantity was accumulated, the goods were transported along the route from Xijie – Zhuzhou – Louyuan – Zhongshan – Xingqiao – Mingxi through the Xikou ferry at Liucheng Village, eventually reaching central Soviet areas such as Mingxi, Qingliu, Ninghua, and Ruijin. The Yu family ancestral hall gradually became the Red Army's Western Frontier supply procurement station. To protect the transport of these materials, a Red Guard unit was also established in Xijie.

In 2018, the former site of the Workers' and Peasants' Red Army Western Frontier Material Transfer Station was designated as part of the ninth batch of provincial-level cultural heritage protection units by the People’s Government of Fujian Province.

Protected Area: Extending 21 meters outward in front of the hall, 60 meters outward behind the hall, and 20 meters outward on each side of the hall.

Xijie Village: Xijie Village is a typical semi-mountainous administrative village. The village has 186 farming households, a population of over 700, 1,280 mu of arable land, and 7,416 mu of forestland, including 3,600 mu of orchards — about 5.3 mu per capita — making it a well-known citrus-growing specialty village in the Sanming area. Since the reform and opening-up, successive village Party branches have led villagers in reclaiming barren land for fruit cultivation, applying science and technology to boost production, and expanding markets, paving a path to prosperity through fruit-based development.
