The ruins of the Dazhong Mountain Guerrilla Base are located 300 meters east of Dabaokeng Village, Zhongcun Township, Sanyuan District.

After the spring of 1944, the revolutionary situation in Datian became tense. The party organization and guerrilla forces of northwest Fujian established a new guerrilla base in Dabaokeng Village, Zhongcun Township, Sanyuan County — an area at the junction of Datian, Yong’an, Sha County, and Sanyuan counties. Here, the party organization and guerrillas set up a communication station and trained local activists such as Wu Luxing and Chen Quandong. Dabaokeng Village became a resting, learning, training, and encampment site for the guerrillas. Villagers from Dabaokeng, including Wu Luxing, supplied the guerrillas with food, vegetables, and information, supporting the party organization and guerrilla forces of northwest Fujian in carrying out guerrilla warfare around Dazhong Mountain. In May 1945, the northwest Fujian guerrilla forces were ambushed by the enemy in Shitoukeng, Youxi. After breaking through the siege, they retreated to the Dabaokeng base for rest. After their departure, several wounded fighters were left behind and cared for by Wu Luxing, Wu Lubin, and Wu Luxing’s mother from Dabaokeng Village. About six months later, the wounded recovered and returned to Datian. Dazhong Mountain in Dabaokeng Village served as a critical stronghold preserving the spark of resistance when the party organization and guerrilla forces of northwest Fujian shifted their operations from Datian to Sha County. It acted as both a transitional and relay site during their guerrilla struggle in the region.
