The former site of the Red Army field hospital is a classic red tourism attraction.

The former site of the Red Army field hospital is located in a civilian house in Ben Dian, Houxi Village, Xinkou Town, Sanyuan District.

Between 1933 and 1934, the 9th and 7th Independent Regiments of the Red Army were engaged in revolutionary struggles along the Yong-Sha-Ming border. A detachment of the Red Army was stationed in Houxi Village, where a temporary field hospital was set up to treat several wounded Red Army soldiers. Due to a shortage of Western medicine, local villagers went up into the mountains to gather medicinal herbs to help treat the injured. In May 1934, after a portion of the 9th Independent Regiment withdrew, three wounded soldiers were left behind, and several silver dollars were entrusted to local activists Lin Zaiqing and Lin Yanshun, among others, with a request to care for the soldiers. The villagers of Houxi, including Lin Zaiqing and Lin Yanshun, went to great lengths to purchase brown sugar and Chinese herbal medicine from places like Datian. They then prepared traditional Chinese medicine and provided careful treatment and nursing for the wounded Red Army soldiers. After three or four months, these three soldiers had largely recovered and bid farewell to the villagers of Houxi before returning to their units to continue fighting.

The former site of the Red Army field hospital is a residential building. The structure is 21.6 meters wide and 15 meters deep, covering an area of 320 square meters, and consists of a lower hall, corridors, a central courtyard, side rooms, and an upper hall.
