Former Site of the Red Army Field Hospital

The former site of the Red Army field hospital is a classic red tourism destination.

The former site of the Red Army field hospital is located at No. 52, North Zhongshan Village, Yanqian Town, Sanyuan District, Sanming City.

In April 1934, the Red 7th Army Corps liberated Zhongshan and established the area as a revolutionary base. They attacked Yong’an County, eliminated the Big Sword Society organization in Xingqiao, set up the Zhongshan Party Branch and the Soviet government, and carried out land reform. During this period, the field hospitals of the Red 7th Army Corps and the Independent 9th Regiment of the Red Army were stationed at No. 52, North Zhongshan Village. They treated dozens of wounded Red Army soldiers and injured militia members. Locals such as Jiang Shunyi and Zhuo Yuezi from Zhongshan Village volunteered to care for the wounded and washed bandages and other medical supplies at the well outside.

The building is a Qing Dynasty-era residence, measuring 14 meters in width and 20 meters in depth, with a total area of nearly 300 square meters. It consists of an upper hall, a central courtyard, a lower hall, and a surrounding yard.
