Former Site of the San Yuan Branch of the CPC

The former site of the San Yuan Branch of the CPC is a classic red tourism attraction.

The former site of the San Yuan Branch of the CPC is located at Feifeng Hall on the hillside behind the former leather factory in Xiayang, San Yuan District, Sanming City.

In February 1947, Huang Weiquan, a former student of Jianjin Middle School in Nanping and a member of the CPC, was ordered by Li Jifan, the deputy secretary of the Yan (Nanping)–Gu (Gutian)–Ou (Jian’ou) County Committee under the leadership of the Urban Work Department, to return to San Yuan to carry out revolutionary activities. After obtaining a position as an accountant in the Kuomintang San Yuan County Government, he used this role as cover to establish four underground liaison stations successively in Sanmin Town (now Chengguan) and Xinkou. After July of the same year, Huang Weiquan recruited Xue Zhongchun, Yan Bingkang, Lin Jiazhao, and Zhang Shiliang into the Party. During this period, Li Jifan, the deputy secretary of the Yan–Gu–Ou County Committee, was arrested and killed. Cut off from contact with his superior organization, Huang Weiquan established the San Yuan Branch of the CPC at Feifeng Hall in Sanmin Town in October of the same year, with four party members. After August 1948, the branch came under the jurisdiction of the Nansha Three Special Branch Committee.

The Feifeng Hall, where the former site of the San Yuan Branch of the CPC is located, has been well preserved. It is 10 meters wide, 4 meters deep, and has a floor area of 40 square meters.
