The former site of the 19th Regiment Headquarters of the Red 7th Army Corps is a classic red tourism attraction.

The former site of the 19th Regiment Headquarters of the Red 7th Army Corps is located in a civilian house within Butou Earth Fort in Shajiao Village, Chenda Town, Meilie District.

In January 1934, during the Red Army’s Eastern Army campaign from Mingxi to liberate Sha County, a Red Army work team came to Shajiao Village to conduct propaganda, collect grain and funds, and was stationed here. In May 1934, to crush the fifth “encirclement and suppression” campaign by the Kuomintang army, the Red 7th Army Corps conducted mobile warfare in the northwestern Fujian Soviet area, seeking opportunities to eliminate the enemy in support of and coordination with the Fifth Counter-Encirclement Campaign in the Central Soviet Area. The 57th Regiment of the 19th Regiment of the Red 7th Army Corps moved from Mingxi through Ziyun Village to Shajiao Village and was stationed there. The headquarters of the 57th Regiment of the Red 7th Army Corps was set up in a civilian house within Butou Earth Fort, where Regiment Commander Wang Yunrui and others lived and commanded battles. During their stay in Shajiao Village, the 57th Regiment mobilized the masses in Shajiao, Liexi, Chengguan, Baisha, and Wengdun, collecting a large amount of combat supplies, laying the foundation for the Red Army’s forceful crossing of the Shaxi River and the elimination of two battalions of the enemy’s 80th Regiment.

The former site of the 19th Regiment Headquarters of the Red 7th Army Corps was built in the late Qing Dynasty, faces west, and covers a total area of 180 square meters. The building has a rectangular floor plan, is 12 meters wide and 10 meters deep, with civilian houses on both sides. In front of the house lies an ancient official road that passes through Xiaojiao to Liexi. It is currently well preserved.

Shajiao Village: Located in the western part of Chenda Town, Shajiao Village is 17 kilometers from the municipal government and adjacent to Ziyun Village in Mingxi County. It administers three natural villages: Shaping, Butou, and Shanbankeng. The village covers a total area of 13.3 square kilometers, with 84 hectares of arable land and 1,786.67 hectares of forest. It has established a 1,600-mu (about 107 hectares) bamboo production base and a 913-mu provincial-level ecological public welfare forest demonstration plot.
