The Chen Clan Ancestral Hall is a Ming Dynasty palace-style structure, set against mountains and beside water with beautiful surroundings. It is currently a municipal-level cultural heritage site and one of Fujian’s renowned tourist destinations. Originally constructed in the 33rd year of the Wanli reign of the Ming Dynasty (1605), it is a memorial hall dedicated to Chen Yong, the founding ancestor of the Chen clan who came to Fujian during the Tang Dynasty, and was renovated during the Kangxi and Guangxu eras of the Qing Dynasty.

The ancestral hall faces east and features a surviving entrance gate and a main hall, both exuding an elegant and classic design with a robust structure. The Ancestral Hall serves as an important bond connecting descendants of the Chen clan and is a sacred site for tracing roots and honoring ancestors. It is also a revered place where descendants of the Chen family across eight Min regions and from both home and abroad worship their forebears. The ancestral rites are held twice a year, on the tenth day of the second and eighth lunar months, attracting Chen descendants from Fujian, Guangdong, and overseas representatives who gather to pay homage and celebrate with grand ceremonies, expressing deep gratitude for the virtues of their ancestors.
