The Ancient City Wall of Gongchuan is a cultural tourism attraction.

　 Guide: Located in Gongchuan Town, Yong'an City.　 Introduction: The city wall was built in the 41st year of the Jiajing reign during the Ming Dynasty (1562), constructed from blue bricks and red stones. At that time, Japanese pirates invaded, prompting local intellectuals to advocate for building fortifications for self-defense. Over 6,000 taels of silver were donated by the community, and the project took several years to complete. The ancient city wall encircles Gongchuan Town, originally stretching 3,100 meters, with about 1,300 meters remaining today. It stands approximately 7 meters high, with its base entirely built from blue bricks—each weighing around 15 kilograms and inscribed with the characters “Gongchuan” and “Gongbao,” hence the wall is also known as the “Gongbao.” Additionally, the names of craftsmen such as “Huang Rui Si” who fired the bricks were inscribed to prevent misuse of the wall bricks and ensure quality. Horse paths were installed on both the inner and outer sides of the wall’s foundation to facilitate villagers’
