Cuiyuan Academy

Cuiyuan Academy is the best-preserved academy in Jishan today, with a history of over 300 years. It was built in the late Shunzhi era (1661) of the Qing Dynasty by Liu Qicai, the founder of education advocacy in Jishan. Cuiyuan Academy is the best-preserved academy in Jishan today, with a history of over 300 years. It was built in the late Shunzhi era (1661) of the Qing Dynasty by Liu Qicai, the founder of education advocacy in Jishan. In the second year of the Yongzheng reign (1724), Liu Yuanhui passed the imperial examination as a Jinshi, and after 63 years of existence, the Cuiyuan was renovated. During the War of Resistance Against Japan, the academy served as the site of the Provincial Health and Epidemic Prevention Brigade. In May 2005, it was designated as a cultural relic protection unit of the sixth batch at the provincial level, and a commemorative plaque was erected in August of the same year.
