Yong’an Longtou National Wetland Park is a national-level wetland park.

Yong’an Longtou National Wetland Park is located in Ansha Town, Yong’an City, situated along the upper reaches of the Min River’s main course and the middle reaches of the Jiulong Stream. It is the only reservoir-type wetland park in the West Taiwan Straits region, primarily built around a reservoir. The park covers a total area of 3,073.8 hectares, including 1,032.7 hectares of wetland, accounting for a wetland ratio of 33.6%.

Yong’an Longtou National Wetland Park features vast open waters, excellent water quality, abundant wetland resources, high biodiversity, and uniquely distinctive wetland landscapes. With 1,731.2 hectares of natural forest, the park not only provides an optimal habitat and growing environment for rare animals, plants, and macrofungi, but also serves as a natural refuge for wetland birds and amphibians, acting as a natural safeguard for the ecological security of the reservoir wetland. The park uniquely integrates the mid-subtropical evergreen broad-leaved forest ecosystem, river ecosystem, and reservoir wetland ecosystem, making it a rare comprehensive showcase site in Fujian Province where “forest, wetland, and water are closely interconnected.”

On December 20, 2011, the pilot construction of Yong’an Longtou National Wetland Park was approved by the State Forestry Administration, making it the first inland national wetland park in Fujian Province to receive such approval.

Ansha Town: Ansha Town is a historic ancient town, recognized as a Star Township and Science & Technology Demonstration Town of Fujian Province. It is located along the middle reaches of the Jiulong Stream, in the northwest of Yong’an City, about 43 kilometers from the city center. Covering an area of 300.6 square kilometers, the town administers 19 administrative villages and 1 neighborhood committee, with a total population of 19,140, including 13,196 agricultural residents. The area hosts two provincial-level enterprises: the Ansha Hydropower Plant and the Yong’an Mining Bureau.
